Dear Church Family,
Psalm 52:9 “I will praise you forever for what you have done; in your name I will hope, for your name is good. I will praise you in the presence of your saints.”
Opportunities to Gather
We offer an Adult Sunday School Class every Sunday, at 9 am in the sanctuary. Charles Jones’ leads this class on the Spiritual Discipline utilizing Richard Foster’s book Celebration of Discipline: The Path to Spiritual Growth. Please use masks to enter and leave the building. Once in your seat at a proper social distance, you may remove your masks for the class.
Our Worship Service begins at 10 am. Please feel free to invite others to our services. Come out and join us in your folding chairs or remain in your vehicle. We continue to stress giving at least six feet of distance between people while talking or sitting. The message this week is from Psalm 52 and is entitled “What Happens in Your Low Points?” Tomorrow we will be changing the direction of the services so that we are facing the ramp in order to make use of the shade that is available. Parking attendants will be there to guide those who are driving in to the service. Please continue to park off site to make more room. We invite you to bring and set up canopies if you would like to do that. Folding chairs will still be available outside the garage.
We continue to offer pre-recorded services of worship and the message. View the services at www.buttervalleycc.org or search YouTube for Butter Valley Community Church. A Children’s Video is available entitled “The Dinner Party.”
Our next BVCC Prayer Meeting is on Tuesday, July 14, at 6:30 pm. We hope you can join us in this important time of prayer for our church and the needs around us. If you need the link, please contact Pastor Mark.
Youth Group is planned for Wednesday, July 1, from 6:30-8:30 pm. We plan to gather completely outdoors.
The Women’s Ministry would like to invite all the women of the church to a Book Club this summer. “The Masterpiece” by Francine Rivers’ book club will meet for the first time on Monday, July 27th at 6:30. Location to be determined. If you are interested in joining the book club please read chapters 1 through 20. There are discussion questions in the back of the book if you want to have a heads up on what we will be discussing that night. Our second meeting will be held on Monday, August 10th after finishing the book. There is no sign-up to attend this book club. If you need help locating a book or would be interested in sharing a book with someone, contact Kelly Hetrick. The book is available in paperback or digital version. Here is a link to the listing on Amazon.com. The listing also shares some information about the book. It may also be available at a local library.

The Vacation Bible School Committee is looking for people interested in volunteering for a MINI VBS on July 13, 14 and 15. This year we plan to host children going into Kindergarten through 6th Grade. It is being planned to be held all outside from 6:30-8:30 pm. We would like to have skits, food, games and small group time. If you are interested in helping with this, please contact Samantha Diehl by email or use the VBS Pro link to tell the committee that you are interested in volunteering. The same link can be used to register your child or children for VBS.
The Butter Valley Community Church Annual Picnic is on for July 25 at Camp Men-o-lan.
This summer more than ever we are thankful that we can gather together for a baptism and a picnic. Burgers, hot dogs and buns will be provided this year. Thank you for contributing salads, side dishes and desserts to share. Modifications to serving the food will be made. If you feel more comfortable bringing your own food, you are welcome to do that as well. The picnic is a completely outdoor event held at Camp Men-o-lan. Attached is a flyer with additional information and a schedule for the day. Friends and family are welcome to join us that day. There is an RSVP this year that will help us prepare food for the group. You can RSVP in person at church on a Sunday morning, through the link below or on the attached flyer.
Online giving is available on our website at www.buttervalleycc.org under the drop-down menu “Resources.” You can also mail checks to the church office at BVCC, PO Box 97, Bally, PA 19503. Thank you to the church for your faithful giving during this time.
Please bring in your Baby Bottles with Coins or Cash in them for Life’s Choices, the pregnancy center in Kutztown this week. We would love to pass those funds on to the organization. Please call Pastor Mark if you would prefer to drop it off at the office.
Our Capital Campaign is about 83% completed for the 3-year collection period. Through your generous and sacrificial giving we have raised over 118% of the pledge goal. We have donated a total of $349,217.95 toward the building project. Praise God for His faithfulness through the generosity of His people! This is wonderful news, and as you continue to give our total mortgage need continues to decrease. As we meet our pledge goals, we will work together to minimize the mortgage! You are welcome to tour the progress of the building addition after the service today.
ATV Trail Ride to raise support for The Loft Ministries has a new date of July 11, 2020. Cost is $25 per driver and $10 per passenger. Go to www.theloftministries.com for more information.
